The latest of ESPEN in Madrid!

The questions on how omega-3´s derivatives are beneficial1 as co-adjuvants to cancer patients are beginning to be answered. At the last meeting (September 1st to 4th, 2018) in Madrid, Spain of the European Society for Clinical Nutrition and Metabolism(ESPEN)2, two issues became clearer with respect to Omega-3s:

a. There are some cancers where Omega-3 derivatives will be helpful in inflammation caused by chemo/radio therapies.

b. The formulation (e.g. Emulsion, capsule, etc.) for omega-3 derivatives delivery is a key parameter to consider when evaluating their effect on cancer patients.
